Of the THOUSANDS of people I've talked to over the past year and a half, the vast majority do not like or want either one. The are looking for anyone else they can trust. Invariably, they say I have their vote. Unfortunately, the national media refuses to give an independent any time, and therefore, any chance. It becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy to keep saying, "An independent doesn't have a chance." Lou Dobbs said, "This may be the year an indpendent could take the White House." That's true, but only if that candidate is given a chance by letting the American people decide for themselves instead of being conditioned Pavlovian-style by the media.
Sincerely,
Donald K. All the trucks, planes, trains, ships, that deliver all goods to market run on oil. All automobiles, as well as all the gas stations across America run on oil. All petroleum based products, run on oil. Although alternative fuels most definitely should be developed, in the mean time America must have oil to keep our economy from screeching to a halt. In addition, our national security requires energy independence ASAP, so that we are not transferring all our wealth to foreign countries who do not like us, and who can cripple us by turning off the spigot, disrupting oil transport to us, or arbitrary oil price hikes. These are all reasons why we must be drilling for more oil right now and right here in the U.S.A. ... ASAP. Nancy Pelosi and her cronies stubborn commitment to petty party politics, instead of realistic concern over our national interest, even in the face of 76% of Americans who want off shore drilling now, will end up in bringing America to its knees.

Comment on McCain: No idea how to lower the price of Oil.

And you're calling McCain the idiot?? We need less oil? Have you lost your mind? The U.S.A is in serious economic trouble and by the time we develop "alternative fuel sources," we will be in the middle of a depression. We won't be able to keep our homes, feed our families, or SURVIVE. Woman, you're the idiot!

Please feel free to respond.

Comment on Drill for Oil Now

what is wrong with these idiotic politicans in washington,it seems to me that they dont give a shit about us or our country. I believe as long as we have a military presence there we should have access to there reserves. Thanks for any information.

Comment on Drill for Oil Now

Just the potential of more oil resources will in fact drive out some of the speculators. Speculation is not a bad thing, it is healthy for the economy as it is revealing a problem. The speculators see government inaction in the United States, tension in the Persian Gulf and South America, and realize that supplies will remain low. If we open domestic drilling and Green River shale deposits to exploration, and exploitation, speculative pressure will fall. When the oil starts being produced, and supplies exceed demand, speculation will shift to falling prices.

Comment on Drill for Oil Now

Explain exactly how and why this will cause the speculators to flee the market. If you can convince me that it will have this effect, then I'll sign the petition.

Speculators are nothing but leeches who produce nothing but higher prices for everyone else...which they use to line their pockets, without doing an ounce of actual work. speculators should be outlawed.

Comment on Drill for Oil Now

Agree with Louis...if we don't stop letting the leftists hijack our economy, government, courts, and educational institutions we are doomed. Don't forget that Algore said that, "we need to artificially raise the price of gas to $5/gallon so that people will drive less." Of course he did this to perpetuate his global warming scam.

Currency problems cannot explain the rapid rise in gasoline costs without an proportional rises in other sectors of the economy.

These people hate the US and capatalism and only want to make the US pay for its evil prosperity; never mind that was the result of hard work and liberty.

Comment on Why alternative fuels won't work. Hydrogen can be used in any combustable engine and in conventional furnaces, hot water heaters, and anywhere natural gas is used. It has many advantages over hydrocarbons. A 1 Megawatt wind turbine, can produce up to 533 gasoline gallon equivelants of beautiful hydrogen fuel from water per day. Hydrogen is the answer.

Comment on Drill for Oil Now

I agree with expanded drilling. However, since it IS controversial, let's get something out of it for the good of the country. I believe, in return for expanded drilling, the American people should be compensated by establishing a TACTICAL oil reserve, which would be used to combat the speculative price hikes that are bound to happen from time to time, thereby keeping oil prices on an even keel. A sort of Federal (oil) Reserve.
